Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Precision Daphne Concrete website and any work we quote or do for you. By using this site, calling us or booking a job, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. If you have questions before you book, reach us through the contact page.
Your job may have its own signed estimate or contract. If that document says something different from this page, the signed document controls.
Who we are and what we do
Precision Daphne Concrete is a concrete contractor in Daphne, AL. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, slabs, foundations, retaining walls and other flatwork, which is the trade's word for flat concrete like drives and walks. We work for homes and businesses in Daphne and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on the About page.
The service descriptions on this site are general. The work we do on your job is the work written on your estimate or contract.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates after we've seen your property in person, because a concrete price depends on things we can only check on site. These include the size and thickness of the slab, how much old concrete has to come out, the condition of the ground underneath and how water drains across the yard. An estimate is obligation-free, so you aren't committed to anything until you accept it in writing.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that period, material costs or our schedule may have changed, and we may need to update the estimate.
Some conditions stay hidden until the job is open. Examples are soft or wet soil under an old slab, buried roots or debris, and old concrete that's thicker than expected. If we find something like this, we'll stop, show it to you and explain how it changes the job. We won't do extra work or charge for it until you approve it in writing, by text or by email we can keep on record.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a planned start date when you book, but concrete work depends on the weather. Rain, high heat or soaked ground can push a pour back, because concrete poured in the wrong conditions ends up weaker. We'd rather move the date than pour badly. We'll tell you as soon as we see a delay coming, and a weather delay isn't a breach of these terms.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (251) 572-8074 as early as you can, ideally before we order materials or book the concrete. Your written agreement sets out any deposit, any cancellation charge and any cost for materials already ordered.
Your part of the job
You agree to give our crew reasonable access to the work area on the scheduled days. You also agree to keep vehicles, pets and people off the area while we work and while the concrete cures.
Please tell us about anything buried on your property that a utility locate wouldn't find, such as sprinkler lines, private gas or electric lines, or septic parts. We can only avoid what we know is there.
New concrete needs time to cure, which means time to gain strength before it can carry weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and you agree to follow that guidance. Our work doesn't cover damage from using the concrete too soon, from vehicles or equipment heavier than it was built for, from chemicals spilled on it, or from changes to drainage or grading after we leave.
Payment terms
Your estimate or contract sets out the payment amounts, any deposit and the due dates. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work in the agreement is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause further work until it's paid. Where Alabama law allows, you're responsible for the reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance, including attorney's fees.
Warranty and what's normal for concrete
We stand behind our workmanship. If your contract includes a written warranty, its terms control.
Concrete can crack even when it's placed well. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, to steer cracks where we want them. We can't promise a slab will never crack. Some things are normal for concrete and aren't defects. These include hairline cracks, slight color differences between separate pours, and variation in a broom finish, which is the light texture brushed in for grip.
To the extent Alabama law allows, our work and this website come without any warranty, express or implied, other than a written warranty in your contract.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Precision Daphne Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. These include lost use of a driveway, lost income and damage caused by conditions we couldn't reasonably see or control. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We're fully licensed and insured. Nothing on this page limits any liability that the law doesn't allow a business to limit.
Using this website
The content on this site is general information about concrete work and isn't advice for your property. Photos and descriptions show typical work and may not match your job.
An outside form service runs the contact form on this site. Any links to other sites are there for convenience. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content or practices.
You may not copy the text or photos on this site for commercial use without our permission.
Resolving a problem
If something about your job isn't right, call us first at (251) 572-8074 or send a message through the contact page. We respond within 1 business day, and most problems get settled faster by talking than through paperwork.
If we can't settle a dispute together, either of us may take it to a court with jurisdiction in the State of Alabama. Nothing here stops either of us from using small claims court where it applies.
Governing law
The laws of the State of Alabama govern these terms and any agreement for work with Precision Daphne Concrete, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The version posted when you use the site, or when you sign your agreement, is the one that applies to you. A change doesn't alter a contract you've already signed unless we both agree to it in writing.
